Hi! I’m Dr. Blakeman

I am a licensed psychologist with specialization in assessment, testing, diagnosing, and mental health counseling. When working with individuals and families, I emphasize the need for clear answers (when available) and practical solutions. My goal is to empower the individual/family, so that they can move on from our work together to independently navigate the world they encounter, with a sense of confidence and emotional health that will see them through whatever comes their way.

In the area of therapy, my primary areas of focus include managing anxiety, reducing and overcoming depression, parenting challenges/behavior problems in children, and coping with significant life stress (e.g., chronic illness, COVID-19 crisis, grief, etc.). My goal is to help you develop the healthiest ways of coping with the life's most difficult challenges. I provide counseling services for children, adolescents and adutls.

In the area of assessment and testing, I provide comprehensive evaluations for children, ages 6-18 related to learning disabilities (including dyslexia), ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and mood disorders. For some college students I also provide learning disability evaluations.

During the COVID-19 crisis, I will begin offering telemental health services, so that counseling can occur via the internet (meeting HIPAA guidelines for confidentiality). You will have the option of maintaining telehealth services or transitioning to office appointments, when it is deemed safe to do so.
